History

Hunterdon County is rich in historic sites, such as the Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton, a beautifully preserved 19th-century mill complex that offers a glimpse into the industrial history of the area. The Prallsville Mills in Stockton is another significant site, with its preserved mill buildings and surrounding historic village. The Solitude House in High Bridge, dating back to the 1700s, is one of the oldest homes in the county and played a role in the Revolutionary War.
