Union County

Union County is rich in history, with notable sites such as Liberty Hall Museum in Union, a well-preserved mansion that offers a glimpse into the lives of New Jersey’s prominent families from the Revolutionary War era to the early 20th century. The Drake House Museum in Plainfield, built in 1746, served as a headquarters for George Washington during the Battle of Short Hills. The Boxwood Hall State Historic Site in Elizabeth was once the home of Elias Boudinot, a president of the Continental Congress.
