Hunterdon County Train Excursions

Located in Flemington New Jersey is the Black River and Western Railroad Flemingont Station. This Rail Line has been in operation for over 160 years! The line has been serving freight operations through Hunterdon county since the day it opened and continues on today. However, they're not only a freight Rail Way! It's here in Flemington that you can board a historic train and take a leisure excursion through the rolling hills of Hunterdon County.


The Black River and Western Railroad have many passenger excursions ranging from seasonal activities like a Santa Train and Pumpkin Picking Train ride to Couples Date and Comedy Nights! The full line connects the towns of Lambertville, Ringoes, Flemington, and Three Bridges. Current passenger operations only run from Flemington to Bowne Station just past Ringoes where their Railway Museum is Located.

The all-volunteer Track Department is currently working hard to restore the portion of track from Ringoes to Lambertville in hopes to extend passenger operations. Imagine riding a historic passenger train from Flemington all the way to downtown Lambertville! For more information, you can check their website out here!
