Spend a Day In This Charming Jersey Canal Town

Whether your in South, Central or North Jersey you're bound to cross paths with one of the many historical canals. The Morris Canal, Cape May Canal, and Delaware & Raritan Canal are three of the most well known. Sitting along the banks of the Delaware & Raritan Canal is Lambertville, NJ. This small historic canal town is full of charm and makes for the perfect day trip!

Lambertville is located in the beautiful Hunterdon County. The town was officially incorporated in 1849 but was settled way before then. Due to its location along the canal, it was used as a factory town for many years. Handfuls of the factories lasted until the 1970s. It was at this time that the town was beginning to be revitalized by artists and other creatives. It's a small town packed with loads of history! Many of the landmarks in the town are registered historic sites and is as the Lambertville Historic District.

The charming small town is loaded with food, fun and picturesque scenery! There are over 30 unique and amazing restaurants to choose from. One of our favorites is Lambert Ville Station Restaurant. Enjoy tasty food in a restored 19th-century train station situated on the banks of the Delaware River. They also offer a variety of amazing eats and a selection of over 50 Boutique wines, plus the Sunday brunch is to die for! Who doesn't love a good brunch! Some of our other favorite places to grab a bite are Under The Moon, D'Floret and More Than Q.

If food isn't your thing then we recommend checking out some of the local stores! There is such a variety to shop at from consignment to home decor stores, book and record shops! There's bound to be one store you'll fall in love with! One of our favorites is Funk & Junk here you'll find amazing repurposed furniture and decor! There are so many unique pieces to shop! If you're looking for a good book we recommend checking out Panoply Books! Here you can hunt for rare and unique books for a great read!

Spring is right around the corner and warm weather is coming! If you haven't been we highly recommend taking advantage of the warm days to come and visiting Lamertivlle! If you've been and have a favorite restaurant, shop or activity in town share it with us in the comments!
